Karakoram is a mountain range spanning in Pakistan located in the regions of Gilgit, Ladakh, and Baltistan. It is one of the Greater Ranges of Asia, often considered together with the Himalaya, but not technically part of that range.

The Karakoram is home to more than sixty peaks above 7,000m (22,960 ft), including K2, the second highest peak of the world (8,611 m, 28,251 ft). K2 is just 237 m smaller than the 8,848 m tall Mount Everest. The range is about 500 km (300 mi) in length, and is the most heavily glaciated part of the world outside of the polar regions. The Siachen Glacier at 70 km and the Biafo Glacier at 63 km rank as the world's second and third longest glaciers outside the polar regions.

The Karakoram is bounded on the northeast by the edge of the Tibetan Plateau, and on the north by the Wakhan Corridor and the Pamir Mountains. Just to the west of the northwest end of the Karakoram lies the Hindu Raj range, beyond which is the Hindu Kush range. The southern boundary of the Karakoram is formed by the Gilgit, Indus, and Shyok Rivers, which separate the range from the northwestern end of the Himalaya range proper.

Due to its altitude and ruggedness, the Karakoram is much less inhabited than parts of the Himalayas further east. European explorers first visited early in the 19th century, followed by British surveyors starting in 1856.

The Muztagh Pass was crossed in 1887 by the expedition of Colonel Francis Younghusband and the valleys above the Hunza River were explored by George Cockerill in 1892. Explorations in the 1910s and 1920s established most of the geography of the region.

Chogolisa (or Bride Peak) is a mountain in the Karakoram region of Pakistan. It lies near the Baltoro Glacier in the Concordia region which is home to some of the highest peaks of the world. Chogolisa has several peaks, the highest on the SW face (Chogolisa I) rises to 7,665 metres (25,148 ft). The second highest at 7,654 metres on the NE side (Chogolisa II) is the one named Bride Peak by Martin Conway in 1892.

In 1909, a party led by Duke of the Abruzzi reached 7,498m from a base camp located on the northern side and a high camp on the Chogolisa saddle at 6,335m. Bad weather stopped the party from ascending further, but their climb established a world altitude record.

Tupopdan peaks, near Passu village, upper Hunza, Northern Areas of Pakistan. Tupopdan - "mouthful of sun mountain " local language, also known as Passu Cones, or Cathedral Peak, near Hunza River In 1987, Tupopdan Sar was climbed by British P.Cox, L.Griffin et M.Woolridge.

Dudi Patsar is a relatively unknown place in Pakistan that has a long, narrow valley between 14,000+ ft mountains. Wild horses roam about. No humans to be found. The place is unbelievably beautiful.

Hunza, mostly remains covered under the sacred gown of snow in winter, when unwraps, its sensuous hilly contour and the luxurious vegetation become a magnet. The lands of fairy tales, where the snowcapped hills stood high to higher limits. Gigantic mountains that have stretched over an area of 110 kilometers surround the valley. The terrain is full of variety with diversity in the heights of the peaks of 1500 meters to 8000 meters.

As one travels up on the Karakorum Highway, the beautiful sceneries keep on revealing themselves. On the way one can witness the 65 km long 'Batura' glacier, the second longest in Pakistan, surround by Shishper, Batura and Kumpirdior peaks. As much as the valley is famous for its beauty, the people of Hunza are noted for their friendliness and hospitality.

So whether you are a culture shark, an adrenaline junkie, or simply in need of a stress-free time. Whatever you may be, you just can't get out of the Talismanic effect of Hunza

Pasu is a visitor paradise, with small narrow valleys, an area surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks, they seems un-climbable and impenetrable. There are isolated pockets of still virgin beauty... areas where one can still enjoy the unique culture of unadulterated people and their awesome mountain terrain.

It is for sure one of the most beautiful places on earth. The town itself consists of a few houses and guest houses sprawled along the winding Karakorum highway.

Hidden behind the mist is the Diran Peak (7266 m). Below is the Nagar Valley, Northern Areas of Pakistan. In Nagar heights seems to be unlimited. Rakaposhi (7788 m) is in Nagar and is the Biggest Slope in the world.

Hunza was previously under the domination of Nagar and collectively called Buroshall and their capital was Capal Dongs. But afterwards divided Buroshall into Nagar and Hunza and declared the river as the border.

Nagar was famous for its polo team. Until 1972 it was the unbeatable team of the northern areas.

The whole area of Nagar is declared as a community park to prevent the hunting of many endangered animals such as Marco Polo sheep, brown bears, snow tigers etc.
